There are a number of groups in North West London offering support for people living with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. With a chance to meet and share experiences with others, they are all run by volunteers and typically meet on a monthly basis, often with a talk on a diabetes topic to help you grow your knowledge and self-manage well.

Type 1 courses
Diabetes courses are encouraged for everyone with type 1 diabetes. It doesn’t matter how long you have had it.
Evidence shows people who have been on a course have more stable blood sugar levels and fewer complications.
Many people who have attended these courses describe them as “life changing”. Some programmes are face to face or some you can do online.
Type 2 courses
There is a lot of information and support available for type 2 diabetes. Some of the support and programmes you can access depends on the area you live in.
Going on a course can help you understand what diabetes is and how it affects your body. It can also act as a stepping stone for putting your type 2 diabetes into remission.
